Experience
I tutor math to college students who are having trouble with Algebra 1 and Algebra 2, as well as Trigonometry and more advanced courses. I started tutoring a year ago, and fell in love with it. I have also worked with students from first grade to tenth grade. I am a part-time student myself, so I understand the problems they face with complications outside the coursework like teacher-student miscommunication, grading policies, and time management. Math is a subject that requires patience; it takes effort and time to fully understand and use it. Without a strong basic foundation, a student may not be able to comprehend the later, more complicated levels of the subject. I strive to strengthen their prior knowledge and try to identify and fill any holes a student may have in his or her education. I expect my students to work hard, but I do my best to give them a safe and encouraging working atmosphere. When I'm not teaching or studying I like to play and watch sports, and play board games like Chess and Monopoly. I also like building and assembly projects, and of course math!
